Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale commercial construction initiatives. You will oversee teams across multiple projects and geographies, ensuring safety, financial performance, and client satisfaction from project kickoff to closeout.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to mentor managers, manage complex schedules, and coordinate subcontractor activities while driving energy-saving and efficiency goals.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of verifiable experience in LARGE ($20M+) commercial construction
• 4-year degree in Construction Management or related field and field experience in core markets
• Design-build experience is a plus
• Leadership skills and ability to address challenges, resolve issues, and motivate others
• Willingness to travel 5–10% to job sites and office locations

Job description

• Manage all project team members across potentially multiple projects and geographies
• Champion project safety and risk management
• Mentor and train Project Managers and Superintendents
• Manage project financials and communicate them to leadership
• Inform the Vice President about employee development and performance issues
• Interpret contract terms and conditions and resolve risks and business issues
• Lead development of subcontract and purchase order exhibits
• Coordinate project schedules and workflows to meet energy savings goals
• Monitor and manage change management resolution
• Monitor, manage, issue, negotiate, and collect progress billings
• Ensure accurate monthly reporting and lead monthly project meetings
• Verify accurate financial forecasting
• Manage and resolve open project risks
• Serve as the key project leader and point of contact for the client
• Ensure project completion according to energy and financial goals
• Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and owners

Requirements

• Minimum of 8-10 years of verifiable experience in LARGE ($20M+) commercial construction
• 4-year degree in Construction Management or related field and applicable field work experience in the company core markets
• Design-build experience is a plus
• Leadership skills and willingness to address challenges, resolve issues, and motivate others while maintaining relationships
• Ability to manage complex situations involving ambiguity and conflict resolution
• Resourcefulness and focus on safety, financial performance, and client expectations
• Experience with pull planning and Last Planner System
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient in project management software such as Procore or similar
• Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera or similar
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
• Versed in the industry and the company's competitors
• Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
• Willingness and ability to travel 5-10% to job sites and office locations
