Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager in the United States (Texas). You will lead project documentation, budgeting, scheduling, and subcontract management to ensure client satisfaction and profitability.

Responsibilities include permits, RFIs, buy/build processes, and safety/quality oversight, collaborating with PMs and HR for staffing and onboarding.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred.
  • Extensive experience managing budgets for construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Leadership experience with proven ability to lead teams.
  • Proficient with MS Office and construction management software.
  • Familiar with safety and quality standards in construction.
  • Understanding of construction management processes and contracts.
  • Ability to plan ahead, work collaboratively, and coordinate resources.
  • Experience with design/build projects is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with time management.

  • Develop and manage all project documentation.
  • Schedule and lead project hand-off meetings.
  • Prepare construction budgets from plans and verify cost-code accuracy.

  • Finalize schedules of values for owner billing.
  • Build and manage project schedules with field supervisors.
  • Prepare job-number requests and electronic timesheets.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, monthly job-cost reporting, and profitability.
  • Develop and negotiate subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Contractually manage subcontractors.
  • Maintain vendor, material-status, submittal, productivity, weld, inspection, and punch-list records.
  • Create and distribute RFIs.
  • Prepare monthly project billing and invoices.
  • Submit weekly credit-card receipts.
  • Resolve cost discrepancies.
  • Price, negotiate, and formalize project-scope changes.
  • Provide notices of delay to owners, general contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Project Managers and Superintendents on resources.
  • Hire field personnel and coordinate onboarding with HR.
  • Balance scope, time, and cost while ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Review timesheets and conduct employee reviews.
  • Manage project safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Prepare and submit safety and quality incident reports.
  • Submit employee personnel forms to HR.
  • Approve invoices in accounting software.
  • Ensure jobsites remain clean and orderly.
  • Update opportunity project tracking forms and submit to CRM Manager.

Requirements


  • Previous work experience in project management or BS/BA degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field

  • OSHA 30, First Aid and CPR Training

  • Extensive work experience managing budgets for construction projects

  • Excellent knowledge of construction materials and equipment

  • Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite

  • Knowledge of construction safety and quality standards

  • Understanding of construction management processes

  • Ability to work collaboratively and plan ahead

  • Familiarity with construction and project management software programs

  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs

  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions

  • Conflict resolution and conflict management experience

  • Excellent time management ability

  • Ability to multitask with a strong understanding of core manager duties

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities

  • PMP, CCM, or an equivalent certification would be considered an asset

  • Design/Build experience would be considered an asset
