Job summary

A.L. Merryman is seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale hyperscale and mission critical data center projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will coordinate subcontractors, drive production, and ensure safety, schedule, and quality. The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of superintendent experience on commercial construction, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience on commercial construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors on fast-paced projects.
• Strong understanding of structural, architectural, civil, MEP, and building systems.
• Experience leading projects from groundbreaking through commissioning and turnover.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage project sequencing, maintain client relationships, and drive production on some of the most technically demanding projects in the country.

This role requires a strong leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving complex construction challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead all daily field operations from site mobilization through project turnover.
• Manage project schedules and coordinate subcontractor activities to maintain critical milestones.
• Develop and execute short-interval work plans and look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Owners, Design Teams, Commissioning Teams, and Trade Partners.
• Ensure all work complies with contract documents, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce all company and OSHA safety requirements.
• Identify schedule risks and develop recovery plans when necessary.
• Manage manpower planning and subcontractor performance.
• Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Coordinate inspections and maintain project documentation.
• Drive field productivity while maintaining exceptional quality and safety performance.
• Lead owner walks, punch lists, and project closeout activities.

Preferred Experience

We are seeking construction leaders with experience delivering large, technically complex commercial projects.
