Job summary

Pine Street Inn in Boston is seeking a Guest Services Specialist to help create a safe shelter environment. This is a 100% on-site role with a 40-hour weekly schedule (Fri-Tue 6:45am-3:15pm). The GSS focuses on direct guest care and housing pathway progression.

You will connect guests to addiction, mental health and medical resources, enter HMIS data, and follow agency policy. A high school diploma is required; bilingual English/Spanish and MA driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Valid MA driver's license in good standing.
• Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish.
• Minimum of one year of experience in the Human Services field.
• Knowledge of addiction, recovery, and mental illness.
• Knowledge of issues pertaining to the homeless.
• Knowledge of area resources.
• Narcan administration and CPR knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to shelter guests and respond to needs promptly.
• Assist in developing housing pathways and connect guests to resources.
• Assist guests in connecting with substance abuse, mental health and medical resources.
• Enter data into the HMIS system and document reports per agency policy.
• Make sound decisions and seek guidance from a supervisor as needed.
