Job summary

Pine Street Inn is seeking a Guest Service Specialist for the Shattuck Shelter in Jamaica Plain, MA. The role is 100% on-site, focused on helping guests access emergency shelter, food, clothing, medical care, and housing services while maintaining a safe environment.

You will enter data into HMIS, assist with housing pathways, and coordinate with staff, vendors, and visitors. Requires solid customer service, clear communication, and the ability to work in a dynamic shelter setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in the Human Services field.
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate and listen in a non-judgmental manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests, callers and visitors with information on shelter services and referrals.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment at the shelter and front desk.
• Operate a multi-line phone system, document reports, and assist staff as needed.
