Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Sales Internship participant for Summer 2027 within the Workplace Benefits team. You will support the sales team, assist with projects, and collaborate with interns across the organization to impact territory sales and overall business success.

You will interact with underwriting, new business, marketing, administration, product, sales, and compensation teams while gaining exposure to how we distribute and support group insurance customers.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or completed undergraduate or graduate level degree.
• Involvement in extracurricular activities and/or involvement within the community
• Interest in a career in sales
• Preference will be given to students who have experience with sales either through a previous internship, involvement, or work experience
• Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Travel will be required

Responsibilities

• Provide sales support to Workplace Benefits sales team.
• Assist with projects and collaboration with other sales interns across the organization.
• Learn how we distribute and support our group insurance customers and impact territory sales.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Principal.
