Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. You will work with experienced engineers on mechanical-system design, analysis, and implementation oversight for the vertical building market.

You will assist with project work within budgets, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and document design decisions to support client expectations. This paid internship offers mentorship and real project experience.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Skilled in AutoCAD and/or BIM software.
• Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of mechanical-system projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment resources.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier disciplines.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring progress.
• Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final checks.
• Prepare and issue addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract.
