Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern in Melbourne, FL for a 10-12 week summer program. You will work with experienced engineers on design, analysis, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for education, corporate, and commercial markets.

This paid internship offers hands-on project work, mentorship, and exposure across disciplines within a 100% employee-owned firm. Eligible candidates are currently pursuing a BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years completed.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM).
• Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written form.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of mechanical-system projects according to code and IMEG standards.
• Research commercially available equipment resources.
• Support client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment-supplier disciplines.
• Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress.
