Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer Intern in its Systems sub-discipline, focusing on conventional power systems. As a Summer Intern, you’ll help design mechanical equipment and systems used across projects, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to infrastructure challenges.

You will join a team addressing complex projects, with opportunities for professional growth and exposure to multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
• Minimum Qualifications: ABET-accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program; able to complete onboarding and background checks if selected.
• Preferred Qualifications: Fluids and thermodynamics coursework; strong analytical, communication, and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
• Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs.
• Prepare basic calculations.
• Assist in basic equipment selection.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
• Organize and file project materials and references.
