Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Summer Intern in Mechanical Engineering within the Systems sub-discipline to support Nuclear projects through design of mechanical equipment and systems used across facilities.

Current ABET-accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering students may apply. No prior experience required; onboarding may include background checks and drug screening as required by policy.

Qualifications

• No experience required. Current enrollment in ABET accredited university in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
• Preferred coursework in fluids and thermodynamics.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
• Perform variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs.
• Prepare basic calculations.
• Assist in basic equipment selection.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Schedule project deliverables.
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling.
• Organize and file project materials and references.
