Job summary

Black & Veatch invites a Summer Intern in Overland Park, KS to join the Mission Critical team and contribute to federal projects. You will gain hands-on experience across engineering disciplines while supporting project goals and client needs.

You will work on developing specifications, assisting in equipment selection, coordinating with disciplines, and helping schedule deliverables in a collaborative, learning-driven environment.

Qualifications

• No experience required; enrolled in ABET-accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.
• Preferred: Architectural Engineering and Fire Protection degrees; HVAC and Plumbing courses.
• Strong communication, math, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
• Involves the design of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, standby power, flood control systems, and other specialties.
• Perform a variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production, and designs.
• Prepare basic calculations.
• Assist in basic equipment selection.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Schedule project deliverables.
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
• Analyze systems utilizing computer modeling.
