Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support HVAC/Plumbing projects within Advanced Power Generation. This full‑time office internship requires current enrollment in an ABET‑accredited Mechanical or Chemical Engineering program.

No experience is required and onboarding may include background checks and drug screening. The position offers exposure to diverse projects and hands‑on engineering experience in a collaborative, employee‑owned environment.

Qualifications

• Coursework in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Solid mathematical skills and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
• Design HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, standby power, flood control systems and related disciplines.
• Support engineering analyses, report production, and designs.
• Prepare basic calculations.
• Assist in basic equipment selection.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
