Job summary

Beck's Hybrids is offering an intern position in Practical Farm Research for Spring/Summer 2027. The role involves planting, data collection, plot identification, and production support across the PFR site in Atlanta, IN.

Interns will participate in hands-on modules and gain exposure to real-world agronomic evaluation. Start is in early May, with work through early August; housing is provided as furnished housing or stipend.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate coursework in agricultural related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record as determined by Beck’s automobile insurance policy.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Planting Module: learn to set up and plant research studies at the PFR farm site, organize seed, planting, and plot stakes.
• Data Collection and Thinning Module: collect, report and analyze stand count data and thin plots to target populations.
• Plot Identification Module: map test plots and identify varieties and technologies by numbering and installing signs and stakes.
• Production Module: support sales staff in marketing area and ride along with Location Lead on customer calls to evaluate product performance.
