Job summary

Butterball invites motivated students to join the Continuous Improvement Intern program at the Mount Olive, NC plant for a 10–12 week internship. You will analyze operational data, work with plant teams, and contribute to problem-solving activities that drive daily improvements.

You’ll learn data‑driven decision making, standardization, and employee engagement, supporting safety, quality, and productivity initiatives across the line.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with expected graduation Dec 2027–Jun 2029.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from work.
• Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Creative problem solving and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams.
• Support daily management systems, including Tier meetings, visual boards, action tracking, and improvement validation.
• Assist with process documentation, standard work updates, visual controls, and SOP development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain process improvements.
• Present findings and recommendations to plant leadership and stakeholders.
