Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Construction Intern to gain hands-on experience across departments, participate in site observations, and support project teams in the field and office.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university and entering junior or senior year, or recently graduated.
• Pursuing a degree related to the internship area (business, construction, real estate, etc.).
• Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a professional team environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software and processes.
• Ability to travel and work in varying environments (office, field, jobsite, remote or hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function
• Assist with department-specific projects, research, reporting, administrative activities, coordination efforts, systems, processes, and other business needs assigned
• Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, industry terminology, business systems, company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how various areas of the Company support homebuilding, homebuying, business operations, and the overall customer experience
• Participate in training programs, meetings, departmental rotations, and other learning opportunities designed to enhance knowledge of the Company, assigned function, and potential career paths
• Explore career opportunities within D.R. Horton and affiliated businesses that may lead to future full-time employment following graduation
• Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner that supports customers and contributes to the Company's reputation and success
• Ability to work overtime
• Ability to travel including occasional overnight travel, as business needs require
