D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Construction Intern to gain hands-on exposure to homebuilding operations, project work, and field-based activities.

Interns are assigned to a primary department and gain experience through rotations, project work, administrative support, and site observations. We emphasize professional development, teamwork, and exposure to career opportunities within the company, with potential for future full-time employment after graduation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year college or university and entering junior or senior year, or recently graduated.
• Pursuing a degree related to the internship area (e.g., business, construction, real estate, or related fields).
• Demonstrated interest in learning about career opportunities within homebuilding and related functions at D.R. Horton.
• Strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute in a professional team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and able to learn new software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations within the assigned department, division, office, field location, jobsite, or business function.
• Assist with department-specific projects, research, reporting, administrative activities, coordination efforts, systems, processes, and other business needs assigned.
• Learn and apply departmental responsibilities, industry terminology, business systems, company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to understand how various areas of the Company support homebuilding and customer experience.
• Participate in training programs, meetings, departmental rotations, and other learning opportunities to enhance knowledge of the Company and potential career paths.
• Explore career opportunities within D.R. Horton and affiliated businesses that may lead to future full-time employment after graduation.
• Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner to support customers and the Company’s reputation.
• Ability to work overtime and travel including occasional overnight travel as needed.
