Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks an Emerging Talent Intern for the Subways Emergency Mgmt. & Preparedness Division in Midtown West, NY.

The role focuses on data management, administrative support, and emergency management activities to support responder coordination and preparedness planning. The position requires on-site attendance, a minimum of 20 hours per week, and enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program with GPA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Management- Preparation and response to emergencies experienced by the Department of Subways.
• Monitoring – Weather data and other outside factors which could potentially create an emergency within the subway system.
• Tracking – Development of preparedness activities and ensure they are meeting the tasks identified in the emergency management plan.
• Data Management – Collecting and maintaining accurate data and records.
• Reporting – Creating and distributing various preparedness reports.
• General Administrative Support – Provide day-to-day support to ensure smooth office operations as needed.
• Documentation – Maintain proper documentation of emergency management plans.
• Collaboration – Coordinate with team and Subways Liaisons for information when required.
