Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Experience in food service desirable.
• Ability to read and write and comprehend program forms and procedures.
• Physical and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Actively assists the Food Service Supervisor with planning menu cycle.
• Prepare/set up food and utensils correctly, timely and according to daily menus.
• Receives, checks and dates all incoming food products and paper goods daily and accurately.
• Prepares and stores food in accordance with NYS Health Code requirements.
• Maintains the kitchen/storage area according to sanitary and safety standards and observes proper personal hygiene/washing requirements at all times.
• Assists with obtaining proper materials and equipment for food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
• Assists with monthly inventory and contributes to accuracy and timeliness.
• Stays up to date on procedures and best practices by attending trainings as instructed and approved.
• Demonstrates the ability to implement new techniques once trained.
