Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Able to follow directions from transportation staff and principals.
• Willingness to support students with special needs and adhere to safety protocols.
• Availability to attend annual safety meetings and training.

Responsibilities

• Assists the bus driver in maintaining appropriate student conduct on the bus
• Assists special needs students in getting on and off the bus
• Manages student behavior and implements behavioral interventions
• Documents student violations of the Code of Conduct
• Attends annual safety meetings and in-services each year
• Operates a wheelchair liftgate and related tie-down devices
• Assists in removing wheelchair students during emergency evacuations
• Performs other duties as required
• Remains punctual and works under stress to meet deadlines
