Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Project Manager I to work with lead engineers and account managers on substation engineering projects for electric utilities across the Northern United States. The PM will join the Power Delivery Solutions division and support a hybrid work environment with regular in-office collaboration in Walled Lake, MI; Pittsburgh, PA; or Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, managing cost/schedule/scope, ensuring contract compliance, and coordinating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required.
• 3+ years of relevant Project Management experience.
• Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, P6).
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Independently lead project teams to complete engineering designs of various sized electric infrastructure projects for electric utilities.
• Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting.
• Manage project costs, schedule and scope within approved limits, including development of recovery plans when needed.
• Ensure contract compliance.
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables.
• Interface directly with the client and internal management to report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks.
• Prepare bid documents; Develop cost estimates and responses to Requests for Proposal.
• Complete monthly invoices, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames.
• Identify business development opportunities.
