Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Project Manager I to support substation engineering projects for electric utilities in the Northern United States. The PM I will work with lead engineers and account managers within the Power Delivery Solutions division, in a hybrid role that may be based in Walled Lake, MI, Pittsburgh, PA, or Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, managing cost/schedule/scope, ensuring quality, and coordinating with clients and internal leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• Experience with project management software (MS Project, P6).
• Experience managing and reporting project financial performance, budgets, proposals, scopes and schedules.
• Ability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead project teams to complete engineering designs for electric infrastructure projects.
• Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting.
• Manage costs, schedule and scope within approved limits; develop recovery plans when needed.
• Ensure contract compliance and document adherence to quality control processes.
• Interface with clients and internal management to report progress, costs, risks and deliverables.
• Prepare bid documents and respond to RFIs; complete monthly invoices and AR within deadlines.
• Identify business development opportunities.
