Job summary

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Project Manager I to support substation engineering projects for electric utilities across the Northern United States. You will work with lead engineers and account managers in our Power Delivery Solutions division.

This hybrid role can be performed from Chicago, IL, with in-office collaboration and occasional travel. Responsibilities include leading project teams, managing scope, schedule, budget, and reporting, and coordinating with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or related field required.
• Minimum 3+ years of PM experience in engineering or similar.
• Experience with project management software (MS Project, P6) and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead project teams to complete engineering designs for electric utility projects.
• Own overall project performance and reporting.
• Manage costs, schedule, and scope with recovery planning when needed.
• Ensure contract compliance and client deliverables.
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads and Managers to drive tasks and deliverables.
• Adhere to quality control processes and document progress.
• Interface with clients and internal teams to report progress, costs, risks.
• Communicate with clients, teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare bid documents and cost estimates; respond to RFPs.
• Complete monthly invoices, accruals, and AR within deadlines.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
