Job summary

Leidos Engineering seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead substation engineering design for electric utility clients within the Power Delivery Solutions division. You will oversee portfolio performance, mentor PM staff, and drive strategic initiatives while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

The role supports remote and hybrid work, ideally for candidates near the greater Chicago area, with travel <25% as needed. PMP preferred; strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related field.
• 7+ years of project management experience in electric power or related industry; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Experience with electric utilities required.
• Strong understanding of electric power industry and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with project financials, bids, and cost estimates.
• Portfolio management, contract management, and risk mitigation experience.
• Proficiency in PM software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of project managers to deliver substation engineering design projects for electric utility clients.
• Own portfolio performance across cost, schedule, and scope.
• Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Mentor and develop PM staff; foster collaboration.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to report progress and mitigate risks.
• Oversee bid documents, cost estimates, and RFP responses.
• Manage monthly invoicing, accruals, and receivables.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
