Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing, LLC seeks a skilled technician to perform inspections, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment at the Blue Plains facility in Washington, DC, with some local travel.

You will conduct substation testing, preventative maintenance, and fault diagnosis using standard test equipment, adhering to NFPA, NEC, and OSHA standards to ensure project success and safety.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of electrical and electronic principles relevant to complex multi‑component assemblies.
• Experience using electrical test equipment for diagnosing and correcting issues.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical, HV and substation testing, installation, maintenance and repair on equipment and power distribution systems.
• Performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoots electrical equipment, circuit breakers and systems per procedures.
• Operates power distribution systems up to 69 kV.
• Uses infrared imaging to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
