Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing is seeking an experienced technician for inspections, testing, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage distribution equipment. The role is based at the Blue Plains facility in Washington, DC, with some local travel as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5+ years of related experience OR an associate's degree with 4 years of related experience.
• Must maintain NET A / NICET / NICET or equivalent certification in substation testing and maintenance within 12 months.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Operating License required.
• Knowledge of NFPA, NEC, OSHA guidelines and electrical safety.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform substation inspections and maintenance per regulatory requirements.
• Test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical equipment up to 69 kV.
• Operate power distribution systems and test equipment safely.
• Document work using MAXIMO CMMS.
• Coordinate and follow Lock-Out-Tag-Out and Arc Flash protocols.
