Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Test Technician to lead inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and startup of low and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment in field and shop environments.

Role requires travel regionally and nationally, with preferred international travel. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of related electrical experience and familiarity with safety standards such as NETA, NFPA, and OSHA.

Qualifications

Minimum 2+ years of relevant electrical experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters.
Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, lead, and support multiple projects onsite and in-house, reviewing and maintaining job documentation from receipt to invoice.
Perform testing of low and medium voltage cables, transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays, and other electrical apparatus.
Contain material costs by eliminating wasteful practices and implementing control measures.
Rotate on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies promptly when required.
Promote continuous improvement and teamwork across projects.
