Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Substation Technician -B to perform the construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment and systems. This non-exempt role involves work on 525 kV and below equipment, in confined spaces and at heights, and may travel to multiple states per customer demands.

The position emphasizes safety and the ability to lead crews, coordinate with customers, and stay adaptable in varying locations and conditions.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform rigorous physical labor.
Capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet.
Must possess a Commercial Driver's License.
Must supply own hand tools and safety boots.
Must be capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
Must be capable of working in confined spaces/areas.

Responsibilities

Perform construction, maintenance or repair, testing, adjusting and troubleshooting of substation equipment/systems.
Work with buswork, airbreak switches, control cable, terminations and transformers.
Maintain company vehicles, test equipment and tools in good condition.
Work around energized high voltage systems with safety.
Travel to various locations; may be required to travel to other states.
