Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Substation Technician - B to join our team. This non-exempt role supports construction, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment, with 4-6 years of related experience and readiness to travel to various states as required by customer demands.

You will work with high voltage systems, coach crew members, and operate a range of heavy equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
Must be capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet above ground.
Must possess a Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL).
Must supply own personal hand tools required by the company and safety toed boots.
Must be capable of lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
Must be capable of working in confined spaces/areas.
Must be able to work independently or with others.
Experience with heavy equipment listed in the job description.

Responsibilities

Perform new construction, maintenance or repair, testing, and troubleshooting of substation equipment/systems.
Work with high and low voltage components, including buswork and transformers.
Trace phasing, read substation drawings, and communicate with customers.
Maintain company vehicles, test equipment, and tools.
Willing to travel up to 90% and work overtime during emergencies.
