Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group in the United States seeks an Associate Category Manager for Electrical Substation Components. You will own sourcing across transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear, and partner with engineering and project teams to qualify suppliers and manage long-lead equipment.

The role emphasizes supplier negotiations, cost control, and schedule performance, leveraging ERP and procurement tools (JD Edwards, Salesforce, Coupa).

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of sourcing or category management experience in substation or utility projects.
• Deep knowledge of substation components: transformers, switchgear, T&D materials.
• Proven success in supplier negotiations and contract execution.
• Experience with ERP and procurement systems: JD Edwards, Salesforce, Coupa.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; APICS/CSPM preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute category strategies aligned with project demand and sustainability goals.
• Lead negotiations and manage supplier relationships across key commodities.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and project teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Forecast demand, optimize inventory and support S&OP alignment.
• Onboard and qualify suppliers, monitor risk and drive innovation.
• Utilize market intelligence and spend analysis to reduce cost and increase value.
• Travel to job sites and vendor locations to support field operations.
• Utilize JD Edwards, Salesforce and Coupa for sourcing execution and procurement planning.
