Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Substation Protection and Controls Engineer to join the Power Delivery division. You will work under the supervision of a licensed PE and develop skills in substation engineering while increasing independence.

Responsibilities include supporting design, calculations, deliverables, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to improve project execution and outcomes for utility clients nationwide.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0–2+ years of utility substation engineering experience with a B.S. degree.
• 0–1+ years of utility substation engineering experience with an M.S. degree.
• Basic understanding of the utility grid and electric power fundamentals.
• Strong attention to detail and quality in deliverables.
• Proactive communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams with Protection and Control design on utility substation projects.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support design work.
• Follow the Quality Control Plan and complete assignments accordingly.
• Prepare project deliverables including drawings, reports, and documentation.
• Collaborate with other substation disciplines as required.
• Contribute to process improvements for project execution.
