Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Substation Protection and Controls Engineer to join our Power Delivery division in the United States. You will work under supervision and develop skills in substation engineering with increasing independence.

You will assist with protection and control design, perform basic engineering calculations, and help prepare drawings, technical reports, and project documentation while collaborating with other disciplines.

Qualifications

• Either a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0–2+ years of relevant utility substation engineering experience with a B.S. degree.
• 0–1+ years of relevant utility substation engineering with an M.S. degree.
• Basic understanding of the utility grid (generation/transmission/distribution).
• Solid understanding of electric power principles.
• Strong focus on quality and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams with Protection and Control design on utility substation projects.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support design.
• Follow the Quality Control Plan for assignments.
• Assist with preparation of project deliverables including drawings, reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with other substation engineering disciplines as required.
• Help develop processes to improve project execution efficiency.
• Maintain records and files with high organization.
• Seek opportunities to improve technical knowledge.
• Support Leidos’ goals and represent the company professionally.
