Siemens AG in Wendell, NC is seeking a Power Systems Protection Engineer to design, test, and commission protection and control schemes for medium and high voltage substations. You will play a vital role in grid reliability and energy distribution projects nationwide, serving as the primary technical interface for customers.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, 3+ years in power protection, experience with AC/DC schematics, SIPROTEC 5 or Siemens DIGSI

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Three+ years of experience with power protection engineering for electrical substations.
• Experience with AC/DC schematics, three-line, and one-line diagram analysis for medium and high voltage systems.
• Experience with major relay/hardware and associated engineering software (e.g., Siprotec 5, GE, SEL, ABB).
• Experience with substation communication protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 103/104, Profinet, Profibus).
• Travel 50%–75% nationwide as required.

Responsabilidades

• Designing, configuring, and testing protective relay systems for HV substations.
• Developing protection schemes that meet standards and customer needs.
• Authoring Control Logic Diagrams, Signal Lists, and Functional Design Specifications.
• Preparing and executing FAT, SAT, and testing environments for projects.
• Providing technical support across the project lifecycle from design to commissioning.
