Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Protection, Control & Automation Panel Design Engineer based in Wendell, North Carolina. You will design electrical, mechanical, and system drawings for protection, control, and automation panels in line with customer specs and industry standards.

The role requires six or more years in power system protection, hands-on engineering execution, and leading projects. You will work with Siemens and third-party automation products, support FAT/SAT, and mentor team members while

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
Six (6) or more years of experience in power system protection, control, and automation engineering, including HV/MV utility applications.
Experience designing protection, control, and automation panels and engineering deliverables (schematics, wiring, logic diagrams, FDS, test procedures).
Knowledge of protection relays and automation systems (Siemens, GE, SEL, ABB).
Experience with IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-101/103/104, PROFINET/PROFIBUS and FAT/SAT.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, AUCOTEC EB, Visio, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Design electrical, mechanical, and system drawings for protection, control, and automation panels per customer specs.
Develop logic diagrams and protection schemes from drawings and requirements.
Prepare FAT & SAT procedures for protection systems projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentor team members on projects.
Serve as primary customer interface for problem-solving and commissioning support.
Support the full lifecycle from design to commissioning, with sales scope development when needed.
