Job summary

Siemens Electrification & Automation seeks Automation/Controls/SCADA Engineers for power systems automation. Roles are based in Wendell, NC or Boulder, CO, with relocation assistance.

You’ll design, test and implement substation automation and protection, and travel up to 70% to support projects. Ideal candidates have a BS in EE/Electrical or Computer Engineering, 3+ years in power automation or SCADA, and hands-on experience with IEC61850, DNP3, and Modbus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, or computer engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in Power Automation, SCADA or Substation Automation.
• Ability to read and fully understand DC and AC schematics, one-line diagrams for HV substations.
• Advanced knowledge of automation products and software from Siemens, GE, SEL or ABB.
• Knowledge of design and hardware configuration of communication networks.
• Experience with IEC61850, DNP, Modbus, IEC60870-5-101/103/104, Profinet, Profibus, OPC.
• Control systems or SCADA commissioning experience.
• Travel 50–70% and work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and test automation and control systems for power substations.
• Perform FAT and SAT and lead commissioning activities.
• Develop applications using IEC 61850, MODBUS, DNP3.
• Create control logic diagrams, network architectures and design documents.
• Lead project teams from design to final commissioning.
• Act as on-site technical contact with clients to ensure performance and satisfaction.
