Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to design protection and control projects for electric utilities ranging from 12kV to 500kV. The role focuses on digital logic, AC/DC circuits, and substation drawings, with exposure to renewal energy systems.

The position offers a hybrid schedule in Atlanta (3 days in the office) and flexible remote work on other days. You will advance through mid, senior, or lead levels with mentorship and ongoing development, including industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation protection and control design/experimentation experience.
• Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years in substation protection and control design and/or field testing/commissioning.
• Experience in executing substation protection and control projects.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with internal teams and clients to meet project needs.
• Ability to read and design substation protection and control drawings such as one-line, three-line, AC/DC schematics and wiring designs.

Responsibilities

• Design substation protection and control projects for electric utilities from 12kV up to 500kV.
• Prepare single-lines, schematics, and wiring designs for substations and perform quality control checks.
• Prepare studies and reports for transmission and distribution systems.
• Travel to project/client sites as needed and collaborate with the Portland, OR office when required.
