Job summary

Leidos in the United States is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to design protection and control projects for electric utilities ranging from 12kV to 500kV. The role involves creating single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring designs within a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of substation protection and/or field testing experience.
• Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience executing substation protection and control projects.
• Excellent communication with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and planning for electric transmission, distribution, and substation facilities.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring designs.
• Conduct quality control checks on wiring designs.
• Develop studies and reports for transmission and distribution systems.
• Collaborate with designers and drafters to produce drawings.
