Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join the Substation South Group. You will design protection schemes, prepare diagrams and reports, and collaborate with clients on transmission and distribution projects.

The role offers a hybrid work schedule with 2–3 days in the Atlanta office, remote work on other days, and opportunities for professional development and leadership paths.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of substation protection and/or field testing experience.
• Senior/Lead: 6+ years of substation protection design or field testing experience.
• Experience in executing substation protection and control projects.
• Ability to read and design substation protection and control drawings (one-line, three-line, AC/DC schematic).

Responsibilities

• Design and planning for electric transmission, distribution, and substation facilities.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring designs for substations.
• Perform quality control checks on wiring designs.
• Interfacing with local clients and coordinating with various disciplines.
