Job summary

Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking an experienced Substation Project Manager to oversee a broad portfolio of substation and grid modernization initiatives for a leading utility. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure safe, on-time delivery while coordinating procurement, documentation, and communications.

The role involves field visits several times a month and requires strong knowledge of substation equipment and asset replacement programs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management experience in utility/substation infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of substation construction, commissioning and installation processes.
• Experience coordinating with project managers, engineers, designers, contractors, and field personnel in power delivery environments.
• Solid knowledge of major substation equipment (breakers, transformers, switches, bus, protection and control) and related infrastructure.
• Experience supporting aging asset replacement, brownfield upgrades and capital improvement projects.
• Ability to read technical drawings, construction packages and engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management and coordination support across a portfolio of substation and grid infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables.
• Partner with construction teams and field personnel to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Support aging asset replacement and brownfield substation projects (upgrades, refurbishments, expansions, equipment replacement).
• Help manage procurement, material delivery, documentation, and stakeholder communications through project life cycle.
• Participate in meetings, status updates, and reporting to align internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits several times per month to support construction progress and coordinate with field teams.
• Support continuous improvement of project management processes, resource planning, and portfolio execution.
• Work in a hybrid environment balancing office, remote, and field support.
