Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Project Engineer in Missouri to join our Power Delivery team. You will design substations, yard layouts, grounding and protection systems, and coordinate with Civil/Structural, Networks, and Transmission groups while ensuring schedules and budgets are met.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a PE license, and at least 3 years of experience in the Power market. Proficiency with PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering required.
• PE (or P.Eng) license required.
• Minimum 3 years of project execution experience in the Power Market/Power Delivery sector.
• Experience with Power Market Sector design software: PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Support preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure they are met.
• Develop and deliver substation designs including yard layouts, grounding, protection, and control building arrangements.
• Prepare electrical calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies).
• Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.
• Coordinate design activities with Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line teams.
• Mentor less-experienced staff and conduct QA/QC as needed.
