Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join our growing Power Delivery team. Roles include supporting scopes, schedules, and budgets, and coordinating with Civil, Networks, and Transmission departments.

Preferred qualifications include a PE license, a bachelor's in engineering, and 4+ years of substation design experience. Opportunities span multiple Northwest locations and our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in substation design.
• Proficiency with substation design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
• Ability to coordinate design activities across departments.

Responsibilities

• Support preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure they are met.
• Understand substation design including grounding, protection and control.
• Prepare calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, etc.).
• Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and testing.
• Coordinate design activities with Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission teams.
• Mentor less-experienced staff as needed.
