Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery team. The role focuses on physical substation, protection, and control engineering for high voltage projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV, with opportunities across the globe.

You will prepare scopes, schedules, budgets, and equipment specifications; coordinate across departments and mentor junior staff. A PE license and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering are required, with 3+ years in power project execution preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required and PE license preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of project execution experience in Power Market Sector.
• Experience with engineering consulting firms is a plus.
• Proficiency with common MS Office and design software.

Responsibilities

• Support scopes, schedules and budgets; ensure deadlines are met.
• Understand substation design, protection, and control elements.
• Prepare calculations for grounding, lightning protection, and load studies.
• Prepare equipment specs for procurement and FAT.
• Coordinate with Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission teams.
• Mentor less-experienced EITs and Designers; perform other duties.
