Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking a Substation Project Engineer to support planning, engineering, design, and execution of substation projects in the United States. You will work with internal teams, contractors, and field personnel to define scopes, coordinate designs, procure equipment, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with safety as a priority.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 2+ years of substation experience, with hands-on AutoCAD; strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 2+ years of experience in substation engineering and design.
• Working knowledge of electrical engineering guides, standards, codes and practices.
• Experience conducting field meetings and documenting outcomes.
• Hands-on AutoCAD experience developing and updating engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary project scopes and lead pre-engineering reviews with stakeholders.
• Prepare, review, approve, and distribute engineering documentation.
• Coordinate procurement of major equipment to meet schedules.
• Provide technical engineering and design support for in-house projects and mentor team members.
• Manage engineering contractors to ensure quality, milestones, and cost objectives.
• Review contractor proposals and purchase orders; support change orders and service sheets in Ariba.
• Provide technical support to field personnel and project teams as needed.
• Support safety, compliance, and NERC reporting requirements.
• Promote safety-conscious work practices and mentor engineers.
