Job summary

K&A Power Group is seeking a Substation Engineer to join us remotely in the United States. You will lead and support HV/MV substation designs (69kV-500kV), create drawings, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

You will collaborate with procurement, construction, and project teams across the EPC lifecycle. The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in substation engineering, and strong proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of substation engineering experience within utilities, EPC firms, or engineering consultancies.
• Strong knowledge of HV substation design, protection & control, and physical layout.
• Experience in an EPC project environment (full lifecycle exposure) preferred.
• EIT certification or PE license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the design of HV/MV substations (69kV-500kV) including layout, grounding, protection & control, and equipment specs.
• Develop engineering deliverables such as one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment plans.
• Create substation construction drawing packages, BOMs, and procurement of minor materials.
• Ensure designs comply with NESC, IEEE, NEC, and utility standards.
• Collaborate with procurement, construction, and project management throughout the EPC lifecycle.
• Provide engineering support during construction including RFIs, field changes, and clarifications.
• Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and technical documentation.
• Participate in constructability reviews and support commissioning activities.
