Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to work on projects for electric utilities from 12kV to 500kV. The role involves applying digital logic design concepts and electrical design to substations, with a hybrid schedule including 2-3 days in office and travel to sites.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, 2+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years and PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required; 2+ years of related substation physical design experience at mid level.
• Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years of related substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lightning studies.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure; strong communication with internal teams and clients.
• Willingness to travel to project/client sites.

Responsibilities

• Experience in executing substation physical projects.
• Read and design substation physical drawings (one-line, three-line, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding drawings).
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical design.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.
