Job summary

Leidos in Houston is seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to join our Power Delivery team. You will apply knowledge of digital logic, AC/DC circuits to design substation projects up to 500 kV, reading drawings and developing BOMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related degree with 2+ years of related substation physical design experience.
• Senior/Lead level requires 6+ years of related substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding studies, lightning protection and lighting studies.

Responsibilities

• Execute substation physical design projects with quality and on schedule.
• Read and design substation drawings (one-line, three-line, plan-section, grounding, foundation).
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical design.
• Attend site visits at customer locations.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to meet project needs.
