Job summary

Central Maine Power Co. is seeking a seasoned Substation Operations supervisor to lead skilled workers in planning and supervising substation construction, testing, and maintenance.

You will oversee protection and control systems, coordinate with related departments, and ensure compliance with safety and reliability standards. The role emphasizes leadership, project management, and continuous improvement, with a focus on customer satisfaction and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience preferred.
• Associates Degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience or High School/GED with progression and 10 years relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical technology, substation equipment, control circuits, and power systems.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, assigns, and directs Substation Operations personnel and manages local department budgets.
• Oversees substation construction, modification and maintenance projects, including capital projects.
• Prepares and implements reliability-focused maintenance programs per regulatory targets and company standards.
• Coordinates safety training, incident investigations, and after-hours emergency response duties.
• Directs operations crews and contract personnel and supports outage coordination and problem investigations.
