Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc leads critical infrastructure projects and seeks a Substation Leadman to direct planning, layout, installation, testing, repair and maintenance of high voltage substation systems. You will supervise craft workers, coordinate safety programs, and ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plans and codes.

You will collaborate with foremen and other trades, review timecards, and participate in safety planning and investigations to keep crews

Qualifications

• Direct the planning, lay-out, installation, testing, repair, or maintenance of high voltage substation wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts, equipment and control stems in generating stations, substations and in-service relays in accordance with plans, specs, codes and industry standards.
• Learn to plan and coordinate the efforts of craft workers under supervision and motivate them to accomplish work safely, correctly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support safety processes and programs; engage with the work team to achieve zero injuries.
• Review crew timecards for hours and activity designation; monitor safety, and stop work if necessary.
• Provide on-site training and sign off on daily pre-job safety planning; coordinate with foremen and other crafts to ensure smooth execution.
• Assist in planning and communicating schedules; ensure supplies of tools, materials and equipment are adequate.
• Communicate work with crew members and supervisors; participate in investigations and safety planning.
