Job summary

Quanta Services seeks a Substation Superintendent to lead construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical substations. You will direct crews, ensure safety, and drive projects to meet schedule and code requirements. This is a field leadership role combining electrical know‑how with people management.

Expect extensive travel to remote sites; outdoor work in all weather; 5–10+ years HV substation experience and foreman/lead background are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of experience in high‑voltage substation construction/maintenance.
• Demonstrated experience with substation equipment up to 500kV.
• OSHA 10/30 and relevant electrical or journeyman certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise foremen, journeyman/apprentice electricians, and crews on substation projects.
• Assign daily tasks, manage crew schedules, and coordinate multiple crews across job sites.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate field personnel; enforce safety and performance standards.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of substation equipment (transformers, breakers, switchgear).
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, one‑line diagrams, and specs; ensure work meets specs.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and client representatives on execution and budget tracking.
