Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc, a Black & Veatch company, is seeking an experienced Substation Journeyman to join our industrial construction team in Clinton, MS. You will direct planning, layout, installation, testing, and maintenance of high-voltage substations and ensure safe, high-quality execution on site.

You will mentor crew members, enforce safety standards, and coordinate with other crafts to deliver projects on time and within specifications.

Qualifications

• Must have working experience as a Substation Journeyman in industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of project specs and HV electrical standards.
• Experience with fabrication and placement of rebar, forms, and concrete.
• Ability to lead crew and uphold safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Direct planning, layout, installation, testing, maintenance of HV substations.
• Coordinate craft workers under supervision and enforce safety practices.
• Review timecards and ensure accurate hours and activity designations.
• Participate in pre-job safety planning and site-specific training.
• Report hazards and participate in incident investigations.
