Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation electrical equipment with increasing independence. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and hands-on problem solving in challenging environments.

You will work with engineers and senior technicians to complete field activities safely, document results, and support commissioning efforts while advancing technical skills and certification opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum educational background in electrical technology or military equivalent.
• Preferred NETA II certification and field testing experience.
• Experience with high/medium/low voltage equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment with supervision.
• Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements in substations.
• Test transformers, breakers, grounding, and switchgear; document results.
• Troubleshoot equipment using schematics and manuals; escalate as needed.
• Assist with commissioning activities and verify readiness for service.
• Maintain accurate records of testing and maintenance activities.
